McElmo Canyon, Colorado
McElmon Canyon, Colorado is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. Culture, history and incredible vistas abound! My husband and I “discovered” the area a few years ago on a spectacular road trip through the Southwest. We were fortunate enough to find lodging at Canyon of the Ancient’s Guest Ranch, a gorgeous gem situated at the far end of the canyon. With its Sleeping Ute Mountain backdrop and proximity to amazing day-trip excursions : Durango, Mesa Verde, Hovenweep National Monument, Canyons of the Ancients, Monument Valley, Moab, Bears Ears National Monument, Pagosa Springs and Telluride, just to name a few, Canyon of the Ancients Guest Ranch is the perfect spot to “set up tent”. Luckily, you won’t need a tent as the ranch offers cozy, more comfortable, options: five lovely guest houses/cabins await you, as do two incredibly lovely hosts, Ming and Garry Adams. http://canyonoftheancients.com/

While the ranch itself is a true find - an oasis in our troubled world - its hosts are even more delightful. Ming and Garry Adams are completely “one of a kind” and treat each guest as a revered member of their family (which includes some very special chickens, cows , dogs and sheep; in other words, you’re in good company). I always feel loved at Canyon of the Ancients Guest Ranch and I think you will too.
